Building an Inbound Content Engine for a B2B Data Company

I developed a connected inbound system for MarketForce Corporation: useful resources that could earn search visibility, a repeatable LinkedIn thought-leadership format, contextual pathways to commercial pages, a governed publishing workflow, and accurate lead routing so new interest reached the right owner.

Executive Snapshot

A content program designed as an operating system.

Challenge

A modernized website needed an inbound layer that could earn attention before a sales conversation. The content also needed a dependable handoff; routing gaps risked losing intent after a visitor responded.

Build

I connected a resource hub, evergreen educational content, data-led LinkedIn posts, internal links, structured data, publishing automation, QA and lead-routing logic into one repeatable model.

Delivery & outcome

A live resource library, a recurring thought-leadership property, a technically governed publishing path and corrected routing now support the inbound motion. Performance claims are intentionally deferred until reliable data is available.

The Strategy

What is an inbound strategy—and why do you need one?

Inbound strategy is the coordinated system a company uses to become useful and discoverable before a prospect is ready to talk to sales. It earns attention with relevant expertise, answers real questions, creates a logical next step, captures intent and routes that intent to someone accountable for follow-up.

Content is not the inbound strategy by itself. The strategy is the full path from useful idea to qualified attention to an owned, testable handoff.

01 · Earn attention

Lead with timely, evidence-based thinking rather than product-first promotion.

02 · Answer intent

Build useful resources around the questions prospective buyers and customers already have.

03 · Create a path

Use contextual links and clear calls to action to connect education with relevant solutions.

04 · Route accurately

Make ownership and notifications reliable so captured intent becomes an accountable follow-up.

05 · Learn and improve

Measure the journey once reliable data accumulates, then improve topics, paths and handoffs.

Search & Education

The MarketForce resource hub became the durable center of the program.

From isolated pages to a connected library

The hub organizes practical content around strategy, data, channels and the realities of starting a business. Each resource can earn discovery independently, reinforce MarketForce’s expertise and lead readers toward the most relevant commercial path.

Awareness → Education → Conversion

Three layers, one connected journey.

01 · Awareness

The Forcecast

Recurring LinkedIn content turned current economic and business-formation signals into a clear implication for B2B sellers.

02 · Education

Resources & guide

Evergreen and editorial content answered practical questions with useful detail, credible sources and search-friendly structure.

03 · Conversion & handoff

Contextual paths + routing

Relevant commercial links and corrected form routing connected educational intent to the appropriate next owner.

Thought Leadership

The Forcecast made the awareness layer repeatable.

The recurring format—three signals, one move—created a recognizable editorial property instead of a series of disconnected company posts. Each issue synthesized economic data into an executive-level interpretation tied to the market MarketForce serves.

Content Reuse

One evergreen guide became a multi-format campaign.

The Guide for New Business Owners was built to answer cold-search questions with practical depth, then translated into a LinkedIn carousel that surfaced the most useful takeaways. The social version created awareness; the full website resource held the deeper answer and the contextual route forward.

Useful first

The guide addressed genuine owner needs—including EINs, BOI reporting, setup mistakes and free expert resources—before introducing relevant commercial context.

Commercially honest

Five in-body commercial links were concentrated in the section explaining why new owners’ inboxes fill immediately, where the connection was natural rather than forced.

Revenue Operations Handoff

Content only creates value when captured intent reaches the right person.

MarketForce’s earlier website routing did not reliably deliver every inquiry to the intended destination. I audited the handoff, corrected the routing and verified destination behavior so responses now reach the appropriate owner instead of depending on ad hoc inbox monitoring.

Verified operational outcome: the inbound handoff now has accurate destination logic. No claim is made here about lead volume, pipeline or conversion because the program does not yet have sufficient performance history.

Technical Publishing System

The content system was engineered for consistency, search and QA.

Scaffold once

The tools/new-resource.py workflow kept the article file, resource-hub card, XML sitemap and static web app configuration aligned.

Make meaning explicit

FAQPage was added to the page’s JSON-LD @graph, and internal links were placed where they were contextually honest.

Validate before launch

The site’s automated check completed successfully, confirming the coordinated publishing changes passed the defined validation rules.

Source discipline

  • FinCEN guidance for beneficial ownership information.
  • Mayer Brown analysis of the final rule.
  • U.S. Small Business Administration launch guidance.
  • IRS guidance for applying for an EIN.

Governance & QA

  • Consistent page, hub-card, sitemap and routing configuration.
  • Structured headings, accessible image text and clear link purpose.
  • Commercial links limited to relevant educational context.
  • Existing assets reused deliberately; new image investment prioritized by content value.

Delivery & Outcome

What was delivered and verified.

Live experience

A public MarketForce resource hub with connected strategy, data, channel and new-owner content.

Repeatable system

A branded Forcecast format and long-form-to-social content model that can support future editorial cycles.

Operational integrity

Publishing validation passed and inbound responses now use corrected routing to the appropriate owner.

Measurement note: traffic, ranking, engagement, lead and conversion performance have not yet accumulated into a reliable evidence set. The case study therefore reports delivered systems and verified implementation outcomes—not projected growth.

My Role

Strategy through implementation

Inbound strategy, editorial direction, content development, information architecture, internal linking, structured data, publishing automation, social content design, lead-routing correction and QA.

System Components

Content + technical operations

Azure-hosted web experience, Visual Studio Code, Python resource scaffolding, static app configuration, XML sitemap, JSON-LD, accessible page structure, LinkedIn distribution and website forms.

Portfolio takeaway

Inbound becomes durable when content, search, conversion and Revenue Operations are designed together—not handed off as separate projects.
