Campaign Measurement & Attribution Governance
Campaign measurement only becomes useful when teams agree on what success means, how activity is tagged, where the source of truth lives, and how results will change decisions. This project shows the operating framework I used to make that process repeatable.
The measurement problem
A webinar campaign used paid social and paid search to generate registrations, but channel performance could not be evaluated reliably without consistent tagging, shared KPIs, registration-to-attendance reconciliation, and a defined reporting cadence. I translated the campaign plan into an instrumentation and governance model before optimizing spend.
Define success
Aligned campaign goals to KPIs including registrations, actual attendance, cost per acquisition, traffic source, touchpoints, conversion events and experiment results.
Standardize capture
Established UTM conventions, GTM tagging, campaign naming and channel-level tracking so results could be reconciled across web analytics and registration systems.
Make it actionable
Built automated reporting and a review rhythm so performance data could drive channel, spend, creative and audience decisions rather than simply document results.
Measurement Architecture
Goal → taxonomy → instrumentation → reconciliation → reporting → optimization.
- Goal: define the business decision and campaign outcome before choosing metrics.
- Taxonomy: standardize UTMs, campaign names, channel definitions and ownership.
- Instrumentation: configure GTM, forms and conversion events consistently.
- Reconciliation: compare registrations, actual attendees, source data, spend and downstream outcomes.
- Reporting: deliver repeatable KPI views rather than one-off spreadsheets.
- Optimization: change budget, creative, targeting or funnel tactics based on evidence.
Deliverable example
The source project included a campaign-tracking plan covering KPI definitions, UTMs, registration and attendance analysis, touchpoints, paid-media efficiency, A/B testing and reporting responsibilities.
Portfolio framing: this is an applied measurement and governance project. The source materials demonstrate the strategy and deliverable, but do not contain a verified campaign-lift metric attributable to this specific implementation.
